Skylab 3 Flown Robbins Medallion
With Letter’s of Authenticity from Colonel Frank Brandstetter and Astronaut Ed Gibson
Price: SOLD
This Skylab 3 Robbins medallion individually numbered 13 (of only 70 flown) was carried on the flight of Skylab 3 by the crew of Jerry Carr, Bill Pogue and Ed Gibson and was later gifted to their friend Frank Brandstetter. This medallion is accompanied by 2 hand signed Letters of Authenticity, one from Brandstetter and one from Gibson and also comes with a photo of Gibson holding this medallion. The medallion does show some tarnish from being displayed in Brandstetter’s space museum in Mexico for many years. It can be cleaned by the buyer if they chose to try to restore its original finish. This medallion represents the third rarest of the flown Robbins medallions from the pre-shuttle era. The top 5 rarest flown Robbins medallions are Skylab 1 (50), Skylab 2 (55), Skylab 3 (70), Apollo 17 (80) and ASTP (93). These 5 medallions would be a must to complete any flown Robbins set. It is estimated that less than ten Skylab 3 flown medallions have ever been offered for public sale.
